As AI continues to reshape enterprise
strategy, CFOs are shifting from AI
oversight to AI decision-making,
taking on a greater role in investment,
spending and governance.
Deloitte’s global Finance Trends 2027
report shows 43 per cent of surveyed
finance leaders are prioritising embedding
AI and advanced technologies to automate
operations and drive organisational
success. More than half are leading
enterprise AI and technology capital
allocation decisions.
The report also shows finance leaders
are balancing AI ambition with trusted
data, human oversight, cost discipline
and resilience amid regulatory and
geopolitical change. It reveals that
while 96 per cent of finance leaders
are comfortable with agentic workflows
in at least some finance activities, only
14 per cent support full autonomy
for critical decisions.
