Welcome to the November 2025 issue of INTHEBLACK
In these times of profound change, being a trusted adviser
means much more than possessing technical skills. It calls for sound
judgement and a steadfast commitment to the highest standards
of integrity and ethics.
As automation and artificial intelligence (AI) continue to transform
our profession, human qualities such as ethical reasoning, empathy
and professional scepticism have become even more essential.
CPA Australia’s fifth annual Business Technology Report 2025
features responses from accounting and finance professionals across
Australia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand
and Singapore. It highlights the significant impact AI and emerging
technologies are having on our organisations. The survey clearly
shows that technology is vital for business success, with professionals
leveraging new tools to enhance efficiency, productivity and
sustainable growth.
I hope you were able to join us for our flagship networking
conference, CPA Congress, on the Gold Coast last month. It was
a tremendous success, and we look forward to our first ever
Kuala Lumpur Congress at the start of November. No matter where
you are based, you can revisit the sessions OnDemand to catch up
on key moments, explore new trends and gain practical insights.
As President and Chair of CPA Australia, it was a great honour
for me to attend the China International Fair for Trade in Services
(CIFTIS) in Beijing, where Australia was featured as the guest
country of honour. Our participation at CIFTIS underscores our
deep commitment to strengthen ties between Australia
and China, and demonstrates our leadership as a professional
accounting organisation.
Recently, I was also delighted to visit our members in Hong Kong
to celebrate the 70th anniversary of CPA Australia’s presence there.
This is a truly significant milestone, and I want to sincerely thank our
members for their valuable contributions to our ongoing success
and continued global growth.
