HIRING HEADACHES
Recruitment remains an ongoing
challenge for Australian employers
this year, with a report from
Robert Half showing 88 per cent
have had at least one candidate
decline a job offer in the past year.
Many employers anticipate
multiple barriers to securing talent
in the months ahead. More than
60 per cent expect a lack of skilled
applicants, while meeting candidates’
salary expectation is a concern for
58 per cent.
“The high rate of declined offers
highlights a critical disconnect
between what businesses are offering
and what candidates expect,” says
Nicole Gorton, director at
Robert Half. “Businesses need to
think beyond transactional offers
and address the full value proposition
they present to candidates.”
