Shaping the
profession together
Welcome to the July 2026 issue of INTHEBLACK.
What does leadership look like in a profession that is constantly
evolving? For accounting and finance professionals, it extends well
beyond technical expertise. It requires adaptability, curiosity, lifelong
learning and a commitment to the ethical standards that underpin
our profession.
Throughout 2026, we have continued to bring members together
through a range of global events and forums. From the Profit for
Purpose Conference and Management Accountants Forums to
the Intangibles Summit, these opportunities are designed to build
practical capability while exploring the future of reporting, value
creation and decision-making.
Our Intangibles Summit attracted more than 2000 participants
worldwide, including global standard-setters and industry leaders.
The strong engagement reinforced the growing importance of
non-financial value in modern economies. Internationally, our
participation in the Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) Summit
in London reflects our commitment to environmental, social
and governance (ESG) leadership and supporting sustainable,
long-term outcomes.
We also continue to help members navigate emerging trends
through initiatives such as the ESG global livestream series and
the upcoming artificial intelligence global series. These programs
provide practical insights into the increasing role of technology,
data and AI in audit, accounting and business.
Looking ahead, CPA Congress 2026 will bring our global community
together under the theme “Lead the Outcome”. The worldwide virtual
experience will be live and interactive on Friday 23 October, followed
by a seven-week OnDemand period. In person CPA Congress events
will take place in Melbourne on 20–22 October, Hong Kong on
29 October and Kuala Lumpur on 5 November. Registrations are
open now.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to excellence,
professionalism and ethical leadership. Together, we will continue
to strengthen and advance our profession while creating positive
outcomes for the communities and economies we serve.
