Salary squeeze
As cost-of-living pressures continue
to bite, almost half of Australian
employers say finance and accounting
job candidates are more demanding
when it comes to salary than they
were last year, according to
Robert Half.
The 2025 Australia Salary Guide
from Robert Half finds 34 per cent
of professionals are expecting pay
increases this year, and 33 per cent
would consider looking for a new job
if their expectations are not met.
As employers face tight budgets,
offering hybrid work options in lieu
of a salary increase is a potential
middle ground, with the report noting
that some workers will forgo a pay
increase to work from home. If hybrid
work is not viable, flexible start
and finish times is a strategic option.
