TOP 3 RECRUITMENT AREAS
Research from recruitment firm Robert Half
shows that while budgeting, forecasting and
invoicing are functions employers plan to recruit
for in finance and accounting, they are not
driving the greatest demand for talent. When
asked if they planned to hire permanent or
contract staff to successfully implement strategic
priorities in 2025, employers revealed the three
key recruitment areas:
1. AI and automation implementation
2. financial reporting and compliance
3. ESG reporting and integration

PLAN FOR WORKPLACE
WELLNESS IN 2026
It is estimated half of Australians experience
burnout at work. To help avoid it in 2026,
mental health and wellbeing support
organisation Beyond Blue recommends
developing healthy working habits, such as:
• Take regular breaks throughout the workday
to recharge.
• If in a desk-based role, get up and move
regularly.
• Avoid work emails or calls out of hours.
• Schedule and take holidays
or personal days to
disconnect from work.
• Prioritise tasks and create
to-do lists to manage
workload efficiently.
• Avoid procrastination
and last-minute
rushes that can
contribute to
stress and
burnout.
SALARY VERSUS SKILLS
Think salary should reflect skill level? Some
employers may not agree. Findings from
Aon’s 2025 APAC Skills Impact Survey Report
show only one in five organisations in the
Asia-Pacific region link compensation to
employee skills, while
13 per cent factor skills
into bonuses or incentive
schemes.
The report shows
90 per cent of
organisations consider
skills-related initiatives to
be important, and almost
half regard them as critical
to business growth and
talent outcomes. And while
68 per cent of respondents
report having an
organisational skills
framework, assessment
methods still rely heavily
on manager evaluations
and job descriptions, with
more advanced tools such
as AI-powered platforms
and KPI-linked evaluations
