ESG challenges in South-East Asia
Environmental, social and governance (ESG) is a growing area of priority
for CFOs across the globe, but findings of Deloitte’s SEA CFO Agenda
2025 report reveal that less than one-quarter of the region’s respondents
are incorporating climate and/or ESG considerations into their operating
models. The report shows the majority are currently in exploratory
or experimentation phases.
Barriers cited by respondents include talent resources and capabilities
(80 per cent), difficulty measuring ESG impact (78 per cent) and
competing priorities (69 per cent). Only 16 per cent are aligning capital
allocation with their ESG goals.
BOOST AI ADOPTION
Artificial intelligence (AI) is expected
to have a multi-trillion dollar global
economic impact through 2030,
and people are at the heart of its
successful adoption. KPMG’s
Driving AI adoption report lists
five key elements that make a
material difference to workforce
enthusiasm about AI adoption:
1. Be clear on the why: Clarify why
using generative AI is core
to the business.
2. Foster widespread engagement
and training: Start conversations
to establish social connections,
build capability and skills.
3. Encourage people to play: Provide
safe opportunities to experiment
with AI, share knowledge and tips.
4. Make new ways of working tangible:
Show how AI augments roles.
5. Reward people for engaging with
AI: Implement formal and informal
ways to encourage AI adoption.
