Baby Boomers cautious about cyber security
Older generations are the most security conscious when it comes to adopting safe
online security practices.
According to research from YouGov, 93 per cent of Baby Boomers say they rarely or
never download attachments or open links from unknown senders. For Gen X, the figure
is 84 per cent, compared with 65 per cent for Millennials and 67 per cent for Gen Z.
Boomers are also the most cautious about opening an email from an unknown sender,
with 84 per cent saying they would ignore it. In comparison, 67 per cent of Gen X,
48 per cent of Millennials and 39 per cent of Gen Z say the same.

Singapore the top startup ecosystem in Asia
Singapore has the best ecosystem for startups in Asia, according to this year’s Global Startup Ecosystem Report
(GSER 2024) from Startup Genome and the Global Entrepreneurship Network.
Globally, Singapore ranked seventh in this year’s list, pushing Beijing down to eighth, followed by Seoul, Tokyo
and Shanghai. The top three ecosystems have maintained their positions, with Silicon Valley at the top, followed
by New York City and London which tied for second place.
The report notes that Singapore is currently home to more than 4500 tech startups, 400 venture capitalists and
240 accelerators, venture builders and incubators.
Singapore’s startup ecosystem generated US$144 billion (A$212 billion) in value from 1 July 2021 to 31 December 2023,
representing a 27 per cent compound annual growth compared to the same two-year period previously.
