To celebrate International Accounting Day on 10 November, we are busting some
persistent – and completely outdated – accounting myths.
Accountants have faced many stereotypes
over the years, with popular culture and
“bean counter” stereotypes playing a part.
Being good with numbers is still a
prerequisite, but it is only the beginning
of an accountant’s skill set. These days,
accountants are visual storytellers, business
strategists and people leaders.
