Introducing CPA Australia’s
new President and Chair
Greetings and welcome to my inaugural column in INTHEBLACK.
It is a great honour and privilege to be the President and Chair of
CPA Australia.
My association with our global organisation has been a great source
of pride, which commenced for me as a student member in 1987,
progressing to FCPA in 2004.
CPA Australia’s membership holds a special place in my heart as
it epitomises integrity, as reflected in our logo. This underscores our
commitment to demonstrating the highest standards of professional and
ethical conduct.
As President, I commit to providing leadership characterised by
transparency, accountability and inclusiveness. I frequently draw upon
the wisdom of the Zulu concept of ‘Ubuntu’, which embodies the belief
that my existence is interconnected with yours, and I wholeheartedly
embrace this team-oriented philosophy.
Working cohesively as a team, I, in my role as President, will
collaborate closely with the Board, CEO and the management team.
Additionally, I will engage with Divisional Councils and the Council of
Presidents to ensure the ongoing delivery of value to our members.
Together, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of
integrity and elevating the impact of our profession in an ever-changing
global environment.
I take immense pride in following in the footsteps of CPA Australia’s
immediate past President and Chair, Merran Kelsall AO FCPA, who,
over the past three years, has led the Board with thoughtfulness,
inclusiveness and collaboration. My gratitude goes to Merran for her
invaluable guidance, unwavering support and exceptional leadership.
I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to serve our members and
contribute to the advancement of our profession during my term.
