Workers a
weak link in
cyber security
Employee behaviour could be
putting companies at higher risk
of cybercrime. Research from
cyber-security company CyberArk
shows 65 per cent of workers
regularly bypass cyber-security
policies for productivity reasons.
Based on a survey of more than
14,000 employees across Australia,
Singapore, the US, UK, France
and Germany, almost half of workers
use the same login credentials for
multiple work-related applications,
and 36 per cent use the same
credentials for both personal
and work applications. The adoption
of artificial intelligence may also
create more security challenges,
with more than a third of employees
either ‘only sometimes’ or ‘never’
adhering to guidelines on handling
sensitive information in their use
of AI tools.
