Corporate tax avoidance and corporate social
responsibility: Disclosure readability: Evidence
from China
This study examines the association between the
readability of corporate social responsibility (CSR)
disclosures and corporate tax avoidance based on
research conducted on a sample of Chinese listed
organisations. The results of the research indicate that tax
avoidance is positively related to CSR report readability,
and that improving readability can lower the risk of a
stock price crash caused by aggressive tax avoidance.
