Welcome to the February 2024 issue of INTHEBLACK.
I trust that your festive season was filled with joy and serenity.
Late last year, I was delighted to announce the appointment of
our incoming CEO, Chris Freeland AM, who commences in his role
on 18 March 2024. A highly experienced leader, Chris brings
extensive global experience from both the legal and professional
services sectors. He embraces a values-based approach, which aligns
with CPA Australia’s values. CPA Australia’s Board of Directors and
I eagerly anticipate working with Chris as he leads us into a new
chapter of our long history.
I extend my gratitude to outgoing CEO Andrew Hunter for his
exceptional leadership over the past six years. Andrew’s tenure
brought stability, renewed member pride in the CPA designation
and adept navigation through the challenges of COVID-19.
As we embark on 2024, we embrace a new operating model to
support our 2022–27 strategy, equipping members with future-ready
skills. Our commitment remains steadfast in delivering exceptional
services, playing a pivotal role in training accountants and
advocating for the profession.
Under Chris’ leadership, we are dedicated to providing value to
our members and their clients, and advancing the accounting
profession by continuing to promote the highest standards of
professional conduct and ethics.
CPA Australia looks forward to continuing our support for your
endeavours during 2024.
