(SKILLS CONFIDENCE) GAP
A skills confidence gap exists between employers and
employees in Singapore and Hong Kong. Cornerstone
OnDemand’s 2023 Talent Health Index shows that while
93 per cent of employers feel confident in their skill
development ability, only 62 per cent of staff feel the same.
Just over 40 per cent of employees in Singapore and
Hong Kong have expressed dissatisfaction with the
opportunities to enhance their skills within their
respective organisations.

“‘Fake it until you
make it’ is terrible
advice. Life is not
about faking it.
It’s about applying
yourself; it’s about
learning new things.
It’s about working
hard and putting
your head down
and doing the hard
yards. You can’t fake
that in business.”
