Welcome to the August 2024 issue of INTHEBLACK.

proudly represented CPA Australia at the 20th anniversary of the
Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) Summit in London last month.
Our participation aligns with our broader ESG Strategy, demonstrating
our commitment to sustainability.
Joining delegates from 14 of the world’s largest accounting
bodies, CPA Australia explored the critical role the accountancy
profession plays in driving the transition to a sustainable economy.
Climate change, a key sustainability topic, presents both environmental
and economic risks, and accountants are essential in managing and
reporting these risks.
At CPA Australia, we fully embrace reporting on ESG metrics.
As strong advocates of Integrated Reporting, we are proud that
CPA Australia’s 2023 Integrated Report, Transforming for the Future,
was a finalist in the Special Awards category for Integrated Reporting at
the 2024 Australasian Reporting Awards. This recognition underscores
our dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices.
The accounting profession is pivotal in catalysing action on
sustainable business practices. Accountants can take practical steps
and drive ethical practices to build a resilient, sustainable economy.
By embedding sustainability and upholding the highest standards
of professional and ethical conduct, accountants will remain
indispensable to the global economy.
